IQ SENSOR
All IQ sunbeds are equipped with an IQ sensor at the head-end of the bed. This measures UV sensitivity of an individual’s skin on the face and body. The Voice Guide leads you through the measurement process.
The first measurement (Step one) is performed on the forehead. This is done by taking the sensor from the station and pressing it firmly against the skin until an acoustic signal is heard. Successful measurement is indicated by a short signal. If measurement is unsuccessful, a long signal will sound with the instruction to repeat the measurement. The second measurement (Step two) is carried out at the palest part of the body to be included in the tanning regime (e.g. the buttocks or insides of the arms). This way, allowance is made for pigmentation progress at the next tanning session so that tanning power can be increased. Successful completion of this measurement is confirmed by the Voice Guide. At this point, the IQ sensor must be returned to the station. The Intelligent Power System now computes a personally tailored UV dose. The sunbed starts automatically within a few seconds or after pressing the Start button. The IQ sensor is a photoelectronic precision instrument that is capable of analysing the state of the skin accurately and reliably. For this reason, the IQ sensor is automatically tested for proper working order and measurement accuracy after every measurement cycle. In addition, it is recommended to calibrate the IQ sensor after approx. 30 hours of operation. This is very easy to do using the IQ card directly wich is included in the intruction manual. The IQ sensor should be cleaned with a disinfectant after every measurement.
